Agent tip: fetch the .md version of this page - same data, fewer tokens. Checking many players? Batch up to 100 ids: /batch/{id1,...,id100}.md

Privacy policy

Effective 2026-10-31. Applies to steamgpt.net, its API, MCP server, A2A agent and the SteamGPT plugin for ChatGPT.

In short

SteamGPT has no accounts, no API keys, no cookies, no analytics and no advertising. Everything it serves is public Steam and FACEIT data about Steam players. The only thing it touches about you as a visitor is your IP address, inside a rate-limit counter that expires in about a minute.

Data about visitors (people and AI agents calling the API)

• IP address: used for the fair-use limit of 120 requests per minute. It lives as a per-minute counter in memory (Redis) that expires about 70 seconds after the last request; it is not written to a database and not linked to any profile.
• Request logs: the web server keeps no access logs. Error logs contain technical diagnostics (request path, error text) and are not used to identify visitors.
• Optional rate-boost token: issued on request without registration; it carries no personal data (issuer, audience, scope, expiry) and is not stored on the server.
• Cookies and local storage: none. The optional service worker caches only static icons in your browser.
• CDN: requests pass through Cloudflare, which provides the network and DDoS protection and processes connection data under its own privacy policy.

Data about Steam players (the content of responses)

SteamGPT serves the public subset of Steam profile data as published by Steam (persona name, avatar, profile URL, visibility, creation date, online status, current game, SteamID forms), Steam ban status (VAC, game, community, economy), public FACEIT player data (nickname, country, level, ELO, FACEIT bans) and a snapshot of the public Steam friend graph. Sources: the Steam Web API and the FACEIT API, under their terms. Profile snapshots are cached for up to 5 days and refreshed from Steam when older than 48 hours; nothing private or behind a login is accessed. See data sources and methodology.

SteamGPT adds nothing to this data, does not profile players and does not sell data. AI clients that call the API may cache responses under their own policies.

Your rights and requests

If you are a Steam user and do not want your data served: set your Steam profile to private - SteamGPT then serves only the public subset Steam still exposes, after the next refresh (up to 5 days). For any other request about your data write to [email protected]; we answer by email and act on verified requests within 30 days. Rights under the laws of your country (access, correction, erasure, objection) go to the same address.

Children

SteamGPT is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data about them; Steam itself requires users to be 13 or older.

Changes and contact

Changes to this policy are published on this page with a new effective date. Contact: [email protected]. Terms: /terms. SteamGPT at steamgpt.net is an independent Steam profile and gaming data service. It is not affiliated with Valve Corporation or Steam.
