SteamGPT Data Sources
Every fact SteamGPT serves comes from a named public source and carries machine-readable provenance. This page lists the sources; how the data is interpreted is described in the methodology.
Steam
Source: Steam Web API (GetPlayerSummaries, GetPlayerBans, vanity resolution).
- Steam identity: SteamID64, SteamID, SteamID3, vanity URL
- Profile information: persona name, avatar, visibility, country, creation date, online status, current game
- Account bans: VACBanned, NumberOfVACBans, NumberOfGameBans, DaysSinceLastBan, CommunityBanned, EconomyBan - field names exactly as Steam returns them
- Public friend graph (platform snapshot, can be partial)
FACEIT
Source: FACEIT API (player object).
- Nickname, country, memberships, verification
- Per-game skill level and ELO (CS2, CS:GO and other games)
- FACEIT bans with type, reason and dates
Data freshness
- Steam profile snapshots: cache no older than 48 hours (172800 s); stale or unknown profiles are refreshed live from Steam on request
- Steam bans: live with the profile snapshot (up to 5 days / 432000 s); a stale snapshot triggers a background refresh
- FACEIT: updated by its own pipeline; responses carry the snapshot time
- Every JSON response includes per-source
